Loyal fans of the actress are demanding that a man who jumped a fence and seized the actress during yesterday's Wicked: For Good debut be taken into custody or removed from Singapore.
A circulating clip depicts the person identified as Johnson Wen shoving aside camera operators and lunging at Grande while the actors walked down a promenade accompanied by fans.
Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo immediately guided the shocked actress away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the premiere by security officers.
Mr Wen posted on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "let go after being arrested", though legal records indicated that he was scheduled to appear on the following morning. It is unknown if he was formally accused.
This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has invaded a celebrity gathering. His Instagram feed includes clips of him disturbing other celebrity events, including breaching the performance area at Katy Perry's Sydney show in earlier this year and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers concert in the city last year.
"Steps should be implemented taken against him as this is obviously a punishable act," commented an Instagram user, in a message to a video Mr Wen shared of his actions.
"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" another Instagram user remarked.
Numerous fans accused Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had spoken of suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a devastating incident at the conclusion of her spring 2017 concert in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and wounding many.
"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" commented a further message on Instagram.
A number of attendees also criticised guards at the gathering for not being adequately prepared; while some requested digital services to block Mr Wen's videos.
In videos spreading on the internet, Grande looked shocked when she was approached by the individual. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen reassuring her while Mr Wen was escorted away by security.
Grande has remained silent on the incident, and the rest of the event carried on uninterrupted.
Numerous of supporters had assembled in a sea of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good international launch in a Singapore mall, including several who had stood in line for as long as eight hours before it started.
The film, to be released on the 21st of November, is the sequel of a two-film version of the popular theatrical production Wicked, which centers on the surprising relationship between two distinct characters.
The musical itself is a spin-off of the twentieth-century story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who acts as the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was dressed in a champagne pink glittering gown at the gathering while Erivo, who portrays the wicked witch, wore a elegant ensemble embroidered with roses.
They were joined by cast member Jeff Goldblum.
The previous installment, Wicked, was the highest-grossing movie of the previous year in the UK, and scored ten Oscar nominations, securing several for outstanding attire and production design.
