Former Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Patients

Legal authorities have stated that a former physician now faces charges for carrying out sexual assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care.

The Grave Allegations

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – comprising some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.

A deputy chief CPS official commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

Scope of the Investigation

These allegations come after what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.

The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

Breakdown of Charges

The charging documents outline the forty-five sexual offences comprise:

  • Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
  • Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
  • Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.

Police have asked anyone with concerns to get in touch with the investigating team.
