Jurgen Klopp admits coming back to lead Liverpool is conceivable.

Jurgen Klopp, who stepped down from Liverpool in 2024, has suggested that returning someday remains something that could happen. Klopp, after a transformative nine-season tenure which brought a European Cup triumph and ending the club's long wait since 1990, currently occupies roles in a global football capacity within the Red Bull organization and as an advisor to Germany's league body.

Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

The club claimed the league title in the previous campaign, though countless followers who revere Klopp would embrace the idea that he might come back one day. During an extensive chat, he told his interviewer: “I stated I won't manage another team on English soil. So that means if then it’s Liverpool...yes. It's plausible.”

“At 58 years old, that means I might decide down the line, I don’t know. Do I have to make the decision today? Then I will not coach again. Luckily, I don’t have to do that. I'll wait and observe how things unfold.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Questioned regarding which situations must arise to draw him back to management, he revealed he isn't eager for a comeback. “It's unclear to me, I enjoy my current role,” he stated. “I don't crave being a coach; I don’t miss standing during downpours for lengthy sessions; No need for media briefings four times, three times a week or constant media duties weekly.

“No nostalgia for the changing area per se, however, dining out with the players having a nice chat, is pleasant. With many victories so there was often great spirits at the club. I still have Virgil [Van Dijk’s] laugh in my ear for example.”

Commending Arne Slot

He commended for his successor, acknowledging his role due to the changes that won the league last campaign. Liverpool have lost four in a row across various tournaments following significant transfers, but he rubbished the notion it could be a decline.

“[Liverpool have] a phenomenal forward in Flo[rian] Wirtz, you will all eat your words with negative comments. He’s an incredible talent. Ekitike, incredible player. This is a well-built thoughtfully assembled roster. No need for concern regarding the Reds, things will improve.”

Emotional Tribute for the Late Forward

Klopp also spoke emotionally regarding the passing of the Portuguese star, a 2020 acquisition in 2020, and its impact at the club. The Portugal international lost his life in a vehicle collision alongside his brother this past summer.

“Who can fill the void of such an individual? It’s not about his footballing ability, it's his character. It's hard to picture the team environment without him in it. I find it difficult to discuss on this topic. It was an incredible shock for his teammates too. Nobody at Liverpool might employ it for poor performances yet it's the reality. Entering the changing area where his spirit remains. Coping with it emotionally is not easy. Impossible.”
